TITLE: Head Middle School Cheer Coach

Overall Description
Life Christian Academy currently has coaching positions available for our middle and high school athletic programs. These are stipend positions with variable pay which is dependent upon both coaching experience and the position that the candidate is applying for. These openings are for coaching only and do not include a teaching position.

Overall Objective
To honor God by serving the athletes and parents at LCA by providing a Christ centered competitive athletic program. It is critical for the individual filling this position to be an example of the gospel and model Christlike behavior in intentional ways both on and off the field and court. The goal of the person filling this role is to coordinate all aspects of the assigned interscholastic sport and to work cooperatively with all personnel in maintaining a quality program within the framework of LCA. This person will have their primary duty as teaching and imparting knowledge to students at LCA within the guidelines of their sport and contribute to the educational development of the student. They will further adhere to the educational guidelines of the current governing body of LCA athletics and invest in the instruction of the students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the athletic program

  • Proves ability and interest in working well with middle and high school students

  • Willing to agree to and sign LCA’s Statement of Faith

Certifications and Licensure

  • First Aid/CPR

  • All current season WIAA clinics and courses

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required

  • Coaching or playing experience is preferred

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; crouch; stoop; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Safely handle typical chemicals used to clean and sanitize in a commercial setting.

Travel
Other than travel to and from the worksite, it is not anticipated except as may be necessary to attend offsite training or conference.

Hours
Variable in alignment with practice and competition schedule.

Compensation
Seasonal stipend Range $500-$5,000
