WHO WE ARE.

Life Center’s Diversity and Unity Development Team exists to lead the way toward becoming a Revelation 7:9 church by bringing awareness, education, and engagement to our staff, church, school, and communities. Our mission is to celebrate, honor, and embrace ALL because ALL are created in the image and likeness of God the Father.

It is our desire to help cultivate a place where dialogue happens, learning the truth of God’s word about racial reconciliation, and actively engaging in the ongoing development of diversity and unity across all ministries of Life Center.

“Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.”
Micah 6:8 CSB

LIFE CENTER STAFF COMMITMENT:

Life Center's staff is committed to being a part of the solution to healing the racial divide not only personally, but collectively. Scripture calls us to honor, love, and respect all because all are made in the image of God, the Father. Also, we understand that an attack against a fellow image bearer in way, shape, or form, is an attack against the Gospel, and God. So, we are on a journey of learning, and growing together as a staff. We annually participate in racial reconciliation training and have guest speakers along our learning journey.

BOOKS TO READ.

While we do not endorse every single thing that each of these authors, pastors, and organizations say or do, we believe the resources below are insightful and a great place to start listening and our hope is we can come together and have conversations.

FOR THE KIDS.

STRONGER TOGETHER
A Gospel Lens on Unity

by Maria Garriott

In a world fractured by racial, ethnic, class and political division, God's people need to hang onto their unity in Christ. Jesus not only reconciles us to God but unites us in a new family. In His final prayer, Jesus asked that his followers “may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us.” (Jn. 17)
Stronger Together explores how the gospel provides the spiritual tools for racial and ethnic unity. Each chapter includes a personal essay, biblical analysis, and historical context. A Bible study offers readers an opportunity to reflect and discuss each chapter. As we experience more of the fullness of being God’s reconciled people, we know more of the fullness of God.
