TITLE: Food Services Staff
STAFF LEVEL: Support Staff
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
STATUS: Part Time, 10-month

Overall Responsibilities
Food Service Staff assist in preparing lunches for students and kitchen clean up following preparation. The Food Service Staff must follow safe food-handling guidelines and handle cleaning supplies with caution. The Food Service staff may interact with students and school staff and must always be kind and courteous in these interactions.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Basic food preparation of lunches provided for students

  • Serve food in safe manner

  • Interact with students, staff, and guests in kind and courteous manner

  • Work quickly, safely, and efficiently

  • Other duties as assigned

Role Competencies

  • Fulfill Character, Competency, Chemistry and Culture requirements as set by Life Center Ministries

  • Ability to use basic kitchen utensils and appliances

  • Basic knowledge of proper use of cleaning supplies

Certifications and Licensure

  • First Aid/CPR

  • Valid Driver’s license

  • Food Handlers Card

Continued Education and Training
This role must maintain all minimum certifications and may be required to attend relevant training as determined by the Supervisor, Head of School, or LCA Human Resources Manager.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands and Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently is required to talk or hear and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls including excessive keyboarding or typing. The employee is regularly required to sit and stand. The employee is frequently required to climb stairs, and stoop, kneels, crouch, or crawl stand, walk, and reach with hands or arms. Good health, and good physical condition, appropriate to the position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision; depth perception, the ability to adjust focus, and the ability to read small print.

Travel
Travel is not expected as part of this position.

Hours
Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Paid Sick Leave in accordance with the Life Center Employee Handbook of Policies, Practices, and Procedures.

Compensation
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
