ELEMENTARY ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
TITLE: Assistant Principal (Elementary)
STAFF LEVEL: Administrative
Classification: Exempt
Status: Full time, 12-month
Overall Responsibilities
This role provides administrative assistance to the Elementary School Principal and Elementary Faculty so they can provide a classroom learning environment that is conducive to learning without distraction. It also seeks to provide an enjoyable learning experience for all students, including a sustained safe space for students to learn and have fun and enjoyable activities. Under the direction of the Elementary School Principal, the Assistant Principal will provide leadership in managing student behavior, school policy, school culture, and implementation of expectations placed on students.
Principle Responsibilities
Promote and maintain positive student culture
Manage student behavior and implement school policy
Support and supervise student enrichment and engagement activities
Work with classroom teachers on specific classroom needs
Participate in student activities and annual award events and celebrations
Collaborate on strategic planning needs
Represent Life Christian Academy at various meetings, fundraisers, and events
Assume Elementary Principal's responsibilities in their absence
Manage and facilitate after-school clubs
Oversee Teaching Assistants
Provide student mentorship in the areas of behavioral improvements
Support for academic accountability with teachers and students
Assist with communication networks as assigned
Assist with facilities reservations as needed
Supervise students and the safety of students prior to, during, and after school while on campus for any co-curricular program events or activities
Continually seek improvement in research-based Christian approaches to managing student behavior
Front-line duties in school discipline and student management, including administering student policies in relation to attendance and behavior expectations (and others as directed), as well as invoking disciplinary consequences and actions as needed
Communicating with parents and faculty about all student matters
Keep detailed attendance and disciplinary records in FACTS for the proper administering of progressive discipline
Other duties as assigned

Certifications and Licensure
First Aid/CPR
Valid Driver’s license
Education
Bachelors Degree required
Masters Degree preferred
Professional Certification preferred

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has indirect supervision of an administrative assistant and faculty members.
Physical Demands and Environment
This role is performed both in an office setting and at various events. The noise level may be high at times. The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Hours
40 hours per week. Office hours are 8:00am – 4:30pm. Duties and responsibilities may require some evening or weekend hours.

Compensation
$60,000 - $75,000 annually depending on qualifications
