WELCOME CENTER LEAD

 
 

Overall Responsibilities

This position is responsible for recruiting, training, and leading the Welcome Center volunteer team as well the part time staff members to be the welcoming presence and friendly voice as the first point of contact for guests and callers to the campus of Life Center and Life Christian Academy. The Welcome Center is the face and voice of Life Center Ministries, so this first impression is vitally important. The Welcome Center staff must portray a calm, welcoming, and professional attitude toward everyone, especially during multiple demands at one time. The Welcome Center is to give information as needed, direct guests and callers to the appropriate person, and/or assist them in finding answers to their inquiries. This position serves the entire staff as well as the entire campus which includes all of our congregation, school families, and all guests who call or enter the building. This position is also a strategic point person for campus security. 

Qualifications

•        Fulfill character, competency, chemistry, and culture requirements as set by Life Center Ministries

•        Must attend Life Center weekend experience consistently and be an active part of serving

•        2+ years experience recruiting volunteers, training, and leading in an office environment

•        Must be able to maintain a high level customer service oriented attitude and service style at all times

•        Attention to detail and ability to problem solve in a quick, efficient, and professional manor

•        Work with others in a close knit fast paced environment

•        Exceptional written and oral communication skills

•        Ability to take initiative and demonstrate team management, leadership ability, and interpersonal skills

•        Additional traits: positive, warm, kind, helpful, friendly, inviting, patient, and a professional attitude

•        Ability to multitask and to handle pressure of multiple demands at one time (calls, guests, staff, etc.)

•        Demonstrates a working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Programs and standard office equipment

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

•        Recruit, train, and lead volunteer and part time staff 

•        Maintain coverage on front desk during business hours and weekend services

•        Welcome guests and answer phone calls for the church and school campus

•        Manage incoming emails by forwarding to appropriate staff member or responding as necessary

•        Answer basic questions, give information, and/or transfer callers to appropriate extension

•        Check in guests for appointments; notify staff members of the arrival of their appointments

•        Manage, write, and record voice mail greetings for switchboard, information line, shared extensions, etc.

•        Update Extensions / Voice Mail Boxes and Direct Inward Dialing directories as needed

•        Prepare Daily Schedule from the Calendar Management System that is displayed in Welcome Center

•        Sell merchandise on Selby Soft and church event tickets on Arts People

•        Sign for UPS, FedEx, etc., deliveries; mark packages and notify addressee; as well as, prepare UPS shipping as requested

•        Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have any supervisory role/requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds

Schedule: Varies and includes some weekends

Hours: 32 hours per week

Supervisor: Executive Assistant to Senior Pastor
